The Cottage Souvenir, 2nd Edition, 1888 - Design No. 11 (CS1:11)

The original Cottage Souvenir publication contained no notes, so the following comes from the Cottage Souvenir No. 2. We have in this a real tasty little cottage, with rooms of ample size and lots of good closets. These plans can be changed in size or made to front in any direction. Outside materials, body of the house is weatherboarded, gables shingled, roof shingled. Foundation, brick. Three coats paint. Outside blinds. The interior is to be finished in pine or poplar, painted three coats. Plastering, three coat work, hard finish. Plumbing includes sink and pump in kitchen, with connections. The two plans are the same, except that No. 2 shows a kitchen room added to the rear. Cost to build, as per description, Plan No. 1, $600 to $800; Plan No. 2, $800 to $1,000. Size, Plan No. 1, 32x27 feet 6 inches; Plan No. 2, 32x40 feet. Height of story, 10 feet. Length of studding, 12 feet.
