



In this design the main living and dining room has been given prominence, being large and provided with a nice bay window, thus affording a good view to the front. There is also connected with this room a large closet, with shelves and drawers, which will be found a great convenience. It will be observed that the kitchen, pantry, back stairs, cellar way, bath room and bed room on first floor are all conveniently arranged. The front entrance is unique, and a neat stairway is provided in the hall. the tower is round above the first story and is a very attractive feature. The second-floor arrangement is not less convenient than the first. Interior: Parlor and hall finished in natural oak; living room, cherry or sycamore; bed room, butternut or ash; balance of house painted three-coat work. Plastering, three-coat work, hard finish. Plumbing consists of sink and pump in kitchen, bath tub and bowl, with connections for all, and gas throughout. Outside materials: Siding or weather boarding is used on first and second stories, shingles on gables and center belt, beaded wainscotting on lower belt. Slate roof. Stone foundation. Outside blinds throughout. Painting, three coats. Size: Over all, except steps, 39 feet x 54 feet. Height of first story, 10 feet; second story, 9 feet 4 inches. Depth of cellar, under all, 7 feet.


The street address location for this home is unverified. This home may have been destroyed in the 1998 tornado that devastated Spencer, or it may have been razed earlier. Useful online records are tough to come by. But if I can get access to any Sanborn maps for this town, after 1895, I can likely pinpoint the location of this home and then track down the original owner.
